[Opinions] Isabella
What are your thoughts on the name Isabella?
In an hour I'm gonna start my break from this site. I can't deal with woke idiots who think being hesitant on using Claudine is offensive.https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/227825

I dislike Isabella, but I do like Isabel and Isabelle.I used to like Isabella, when it still felt somewhat fresh and new. Now I am so bored by it and in general I dislike most names with many syllables that end in -a now and prefer shorter names (I think the longest name that I like at the moment has three syllables).Isabella is also very "Twilight" to me and even though I do like the first book and movie as a GP in general I am not a fan (when Jacob imprinted on the baby - ugh). So that gives it a really strong mid-late 2000s feel. Same with Bella. So overall it is okay but super boring. Isabelle is nice. You can leave if you want to but you are very welcome to stay. You don't need to delete your account if you enjoy talking about names.

It’s alright, I much prefer Isabelle / Isabel. Isabella has a little extra frill that I don’t exactly love as opposed to Isabel(le). I guess I see both sides of the Claudine thing. I didn’t think the initial post came across as problematic but I understand why others may have perceived it that way. Taking a break isn’t a bad idea.

You guys need to chill. You're only keeping the drama going by continuing to post stuff like this. Please stop. It's sucking the life out of the board.I'm not a mod or anything, but I have to express my frustration. I know I'm not the only one who feels this way. Can we please grow up and leave the drama in the past and just talk about names?Anyway, I think Isabella is tired and boring, and WAY overused. That is my opinion.

Agreed, everyone needs to calm downI have to deal with enough drama and histrionics in day-to-day life, this site is supposed to be an escape from that.

This is literally a board for names...I don’t understand how it can get so weirdly toxic over a question. Even over the dumbest stuff.

OmgIsabella is overused. I much prefer the classy Isabelle and the very French Isabeau. Even though it looks like a Walmart Isabelle.I mean, as far as the Claudine thing. I had to deal with being labeled ableist in the past and I still pretty much stand by what I said. From what I’m seeing you didn’t say anything especially wrong. I’m pretty sure nobody here would especially want to be disabled and would be a little hesitant to using a name with such meaning. Nevertheless be attacked over something as simple as an ironic statement. It’s sad people are leaving, but I see why. This site is messing with my chakras.
