I find Cecilia a bit anti-climactic. I'm not sure what it is about it - I should love it, but I don't. Cecily and Celia are both much prettier and more exciting to me. Cecilia is just ok.

I'd use it in a heartbeat. My pet snake is actually named Cecilia (after the song of course lol). The only thing that would bug me is people misspelling it as Cecelia.

BeautifulSuch a lovely name. I love all of its variants, too.

I JUST added this to my PNL a couple days ago. I really like it, and I think Ceci is a cute nickname. I definitely prefer this spelling to Cecelia, which looks a little unbalanced to me for some reason.

Breaking hearts everywhere since... uh... *looks up when the song came out* since 1970! lol no, but I love the name Cecilia and totally associate it with the song (or, rather, The Vamps' cover of it bc S&G were before my time)! And I also love The Vamps, so kind of a double whammy? lol

I've liked it for ages too. A gorgeous name. I don't think I would use it in real life, but it has a beautiful melodic quality.

I'm singing the Simon and Garfunkel song in my head and will be all day, thanks to you!Apart from the lady (?) in the song, I find Cecilia too long and too frilly. I love Cecily and would use it happily; I would also have been glad to be a Cecily myself, honouring my father. That said, Cecilia at least has an authentic spelling. Cecelia is atrocious.

Ah My dad was a Cecil too - Cecil Coleman (MN). I have a niece whose middle name is Cecile I love all the variants

Delighted to know that - I'd always assumed that my dad had been the last Cecil standing ...

Me too, but with The Vamps' version! (S&G were way before my time, so I rather associate the song with The Vamps)

I don't like it at all especially the meaning

I think it's a really nice name. Celia is lovely as well.Sounds like the name of a little girl who plays hide and seek in a large forest.

I think Cecilia is a beautiful name. It has class, elegance, and uniqueness you don’t hear everyday to it. It also has a light, airy, and soft sound and look. For some reason it doesn’t bother me that it means “blind”. Kinda reminds me of Claudia. They’re both beautiful names and I for one can look past the meaning. I don’t care for the Cecilie / Cecily variant though.
