[Opinions] Delilah vs. Jezebel
Which one, and why? **After supposedly dying on January 30, 2007 after eating tainted pancakes, she returned several times as an angel and was revealed to be alive on May 17, 2011. )**

Jezebel.I love that name and care none for Delilah.

I'd rather have Isobel than Jezebel - really not fond of Jez. And Delilah would be great if it was just the Bible story and the Saint-Saëns opera, but Tom Jones wrecked it for me, at least. So, neither, thank you, but I'd like Isobel and could live with Delia.

Although I admire Jezebel's energy and meaning, I've always thought the name itself was grating. It would be cool to find out that a Belle was actually a Jezebel, but I hate the idea of "Jez" so much. Delilah isn't as sharp, but I like its sly, femme fatale sort of aura, and I love Lilah and Del and Della, so I'd pick Delilah.

I love them both - but if I had to pick one, I'd pick Jezebel. The consonant sounds are more varied, and I love the nickname Zeb

Delilah just because Jezebel sounds too out there for a real name.

Jezebel. Delilah is too flowery and ditzy for me, although I did like it once upon a time.
I like the edge to Jezebel, I'd call her Jess.

I feel like you have one extremely delicate sounding name and one extremely “bad girl,” “dangerous” sounding name. So different. I think I’d go with Delilah because it doesn’t have the same, er, connotations that Jezebel gives off. I also just like the sound better. I’d probably use the nickname Lila. Or Dell.

Delilah.I’ve always liked Delilah, I’ve never liked Jezebel.

I don't like either, but Delilah.

I don't like either, both have negative associations

Delilah. It has a nicer sound than Jezebel and I guess it has a better meaning than Jezebel. Another great thing is the association with the 2006 song by Plain White T's.

JezebelKinda hard.Delilah is very light. Almost in an annoying way. When I think of Delilah I think of a ditzy, airhead, nearly anorexic girl. The meaning I also don’t like. The meaning for Jezebel is kinda eerie, but there’s nothing especially wrong with it. Jezebel is heavy, and interesting. When I think of Jezebel I think of a dominant, badass woman who doesn’t take any crap. No non-sense. Kind of like Victoria. I also think Jezebel has amazing middle name potential. The Biblical stories for both I don’t care for.

Delilah. I like that the airy, floaty vowels are kept down to earth by self-assured consonants (H not included). It’s sure of itself. I wonder if I could convince my partner of it. Jezebel is too sure of itself. There are no nice vowels in there and the J and Z really pull it down. I like basically any -bel name more honestly.
