[Opinions] Nevaeh vs Isis
I know this is kind of a gunpoint question but: Let’s pretend we live in a fictional universe where the terrorist group doesn’t exist and Nevaeh isn't so harshly treated. Which name would you prefer, and which would have the most likely chance of being your daughters name?_______________________________________________________

Isis for me. It’s a pretty name from Ancient Egypt. It’s really a shame that the terrorist group is now associated with the name. I don’t like Nevaeh. I don’t like the look or the sound.

Isis is beautiful.Nevaeh is crazy. It’s like naming a kid Duolc, Wodaem, or Rewolf.

It would have to be Nevaeh, which I actually think is a beautiful sounding name. I’d prefer to spell it Nevaya though.

I actually don't mind the name Nevaeh, I wouldn't use it however.

Honestly, I would probably pick Nevaeh.

100% Isis. I really like the sound, the way it looks, and the history (i.e. it has some). It evokes a strong, warm, powerful image, whilst Nevaeh is just another name to me.

I think both are fine.
I almost always prefer names that have first-syllable stress. They sound stronger to me. That's the main tiebreaker here - I'd go with Isis I guess.
What I don't like about Isis is that it's from a dead religion that somehow isn't quite dead yet, and that's a little heavy, to me. I couldn't care less about the militant group. Its "name" has nothing to do with either the personal name, or the namesake goddess.
What I don't like about Nevaeh is the way the unstressed first syllable comes out, and the way the spelling looks is just not aesthetically appealing to me - it *looks* too much like it's an English word spelled backwards. And also 'heaven' is not the namiest thing in the world, I don't "get" naming a kid that.

Honestly I'd choose Isis anyways even with the terrorist group. Nevaeh is the antithesis of my name style and I don't hear much about ISIL lately.

Well, you made this an easy question. Without the terrorist association I rather like Isis, whereas I don't really like Nevaeh at all.

Isis. I've loved and wanted to use it for a long time but now it's implausible. :/ In fact, it's my favourite Egyptian name, and, if I had a top 10 names in the past, Isis would be ranked either #1 or #2.I don't really care for Nevaeh, I just think it's not that bad.

Isis. And it’s not a difficult choice. I don’t care for the Nevaeh sound and it’s butt ugly in writing. Isis, on the other hand, is both a pretty sound and a nice looking word.

I'd choose Isis, simply because (a) it's a genuine name and (b) it resembles Iris, which I like much more.

Nevaehbecause it reminds me of Nevena, which is a lovely name, actually, (let's pretend that Nevea doesn't exist) :)
But if it were Isida, instead of Isis, I would think twice.

Isis.
It's a nice name that was ruined by the terrorist group (though I think IS is what they use now but the damaged is done).
Nevaeh is just not nice and I will never like the way it looks or sounds.

If the terrorist group didn’t exist I ‘d like Isis. Can’t see the appeal of Neaveh, it’s kind of a hassle to spell right.
