[Opinions] Samantha
Thoughts on Samantha, never called Sam or Sammy (well, for as long as I can prevent it ;) ).Does it feel dated to you?It peaked at #3 in the US, I believe in the UK it was less popular.Do you find it overused or have you not met many? Please rate my list: https://www.behindthename.com/pnl/6232

Typical best friend's name, because every other story/novel I read a couple of years ago had a girl named Samantha. She is a protagonist's best friend. Sam's loyal and cheerful, but has no personality whatsoever, and no wonder, she was introduced to the story so that the protagonist would have someone to talk to.
So, yep, generic, stock character comes to mind. I should stop reading books, which titles I can't even remember:)

Not terrible, but it reminds me of a middle aged women for some reason.

I've met a few. It's a 1970s name to me. I dislike it, mostly because I dislike Samuel and the nns Sam and Sammy. I like Anthea.
