[Opinions] Esmée
Do you like Esmée? How about Esmé? Is Esme without the accent better?_______________________________________________________

I only like Esmée on a girl, and Esmé on a boy, since these are grammatically correct in French.Esme seems incomplete but I moderately like it - both as a standalone name or as a diminutive of Esmeralda.

In the time and region I grew up in, I remember it was considered a major inconvenience to have an accent in your name because it was difficult to write it in computer software and online paperwork etc. A couple of my childhood classmates had accents in their names and they just had to go without them most times. It's easier now in the present but the idea of accent marks is still a turn off to me now because of it. I do really like Esme though. One of my top choices in shorter female names even.

I have always loved Esmée, this spelling; but I admit that it's not the most practical. I've adapted to the somewhat more common, though still not hugely popular, Esme (no accent) spelling. And Esme is a fixture in my Top 10 now. However, I hate the "ez-mee" pronunciation, it's "ehz-may" or go home! I mean, really, no one pronounces Renee / Rene as "reh-nee," so why does Esme get that treatment anywhere?I can't say I like Esmé as much, though, because that's the spelling that's historically masculine (and similar to René, which is still a French masculine name today).

Esmé is the superior spelling. It's this slightly dusty pink.

I like Renesmee better.

Twilight fictitious names over classics is in bad taste imo, no offense

All ways, any version, love it! My favourite is the simple version Esme though. Oh I do adore it, so pretty.

I love all of those! With accent I prefer Esmée just 'cause it feels more complete.

Esme (f) without the accent is the usual form where I live; it is also a family name and therefore the spelling I would use. I like the name very much.

I like all the spellings: Esmée, Esmé, Esme, Esmae, Esmee. I associate it more as a girls name instead of a boys - it reminds me of Renée, René, etc. I pronounce it EZ-may or EZ-mee, and I love the meaning. It's really good name overall.*
