[Opinions] Meadows vs Moon (Surname for Juniper)
I can’t seem to decide which surname for my character. It’s for a fantasy story.Juniper Moon or Juniper Meadows? They both sound good to me.

Juniper Moon sounds silly with those two oon sounds. Actually, Juniper Meadows sounds better phonetics wise but still silly because it's so cutesy and obvious. It's like naming someone Candy Hart or Forest Woods. Just too wordy. Juniper Mitchell or Juniper Martin would sound less cutesy.

Juniper Moon definitely has that main character vibe. It's catchy and mysterious. But just fyi, there is a character called Junie Moon in an old Liza Minnelli film.

If the name is supposed to be sing-songy, I’d go for Juniper Moon. It sounds similar because of the “ooh” sounds. However, I have to agree with Dracotorix on Juniper Meadows. Also, like Higuma said, there is the Junie Moon association. So, maybe you may want a different name now. If you’re comfortable sharing, what are some characteristics of the character? Some ideas?

Honestly, both sound like Mary Sues. Over the top and hippie. I agree with RoxStar that it’s silly. Juniper Moore?

I would go with Moon. Juniper Meadows sounds like a place that doesn't make sense (junipers are trees but if it's full of trees then it's not a meadow. And even if it did make sense, I wouldn't want a character to sound that much like a place.
I also like that Juniper and Moon both have a silvery association.
