I prefer it on boys but I can see it as unisex. I like Lark and Skylark on boys too!

It works perfectly for both, in my opinion. I know that in English Laurence is perceived as purely masculine, but it could work as a unisex name and Laurence is feminine in French, so I don't see why Larkin couldn't work as a unisex name.

I would assume Larkin was a girl.

I'm on the fence. On one hand, I like it, because I like Lark and I think the sound is pretty. On the other hand, it's veering into Lakyn territory, and that puts me off. God Lakyn is atrocious.

I find Larkin totally androgynous. I think it works fine for anyone, personally!

It's a surname, and I don't enjoy lnfns. It also sounds like 'larking', elderly slang for messing about. It's equally inappropriate for males and females, though that doesn't make it unisex!

Don't care for it. Certainly don't see any beauty in it. Only ever seen it as surname.

Similar to Lark, it's unattractive on anyone, and I can't even imagine somebody willingly calling their kid that regardless of boy or girl; Lark, Larkin, Larker, anything starting with those 4 letters. Nope, just nope. 🤢🤮

I think I favor simply Lark over Larkin. Though Larkin does remind me of a GP Musical "Once Upon a Mattress" in which Lady Larkin is a character.

I’m in that half that agree with you. I think it should be listed as unisex. Lauren has been used for females for awhile, so I don’t see why Larkin is any different. Plus there’s the Lark and Larkspur associations, so it’s definitely unisex imo. I’m actually surprised it isn’t on the charts for either/both!

Larkin Rose is a gp combo of mine. I wouldn’t name a child Larkin because it reminds me of “larking about”. But it’s a cool nickname or for a character.

Maybe it's because it just seems more feminine to me, with that '-in' ending. Sounds more feminine to me, as well.

That, or I may just be projecting the Danish girl's name, Lærke (love this one too), onto it because it's our word for 'a Lark/Larks', and, so that could be my reason. Well, probably more this one reason, than the latter above.

Or, simply just a mix of those reasons. May this one. It just doesn't seem like a name for boy to me, though that's just me.
