I strongly dislike it - and now there's the horror movie heroine to top it off.

I always go back and forth if I like Pearl or not. On the one hand, it's kind of cute and has a sweet look and sound to it. On the other, I always have a tendency to lump it with The Scarlet Letter and the little demon spawn of Hester Prynne lol 😅😅. Ironically, the only Irl Pearl I've met was named after the character because her mom thought it was a fun Gothic, Halloween-ish Association.

I think it’s beautiful, but more so for a mn. It seems to flow so nicely with so many names.

I love Pearl, but then again I love most gemstone names. I mostly like it as a middle name.

I think Pearl is a wonderful name. There aren't many p-names that I like. So, that’s saying something in my book.

It's very pretty and I'd consider it if my partner liked it. I think it would make a neat middle name.

Adore it. It's one of my top names. I'd use it in an instant.

I agree, it’s nice in theory but sounds strange

Pearl is more interesting to me than Jade and Ruby but it kinda has old lady vibes to me since the only one I know is really old. I do like Perla, it has a fresher feel. Pearl makes a great middle name.

This is a name I really want to like and fits my overall style, but it just doesn't do it for me. I would be thrilled to hear of someone else using it though!I think the problem is I like Opal and Ruby better, lol.

Like it as a middle name.

I don't enjoy that vowel sound. Same problem with Bert and Mercy and so many others. Give me Margaret any day.

Love Pearl. One of my faves. I fell in love with it years ago when I was working in a care home and met a Pearl that was SO cute. She had perfectly white pixie hair and her strongest memories were of her life when she was a little girl living on the farm, so every day she would tell me stories about her chickens. Adorable. I'd definitely use Pearl irl. I like the pronunciation! It's cute but also strong. I keep trying to get into Perla too, but Pearl will always have my heart first.

Yes!I don't really mind the pronunciation, this name is perennial, and a keeper if you like nature names, especially gemstone names. It has been making a comeback recently.
