What are your thoughts on the name Eden? Do you prefer it on a particular gender?
I know a guy with this name but I never met a girl with it. This is probbaly one of my favorite unisex names personally. I’d use it on a boy or girl. It reminds me of paradise - pleasant and delightful.

Well I love it, because it’s my beautiful daughters name! DH and I both loved the name for a girl and I like it for a boy too, but still prefer it for a girl. I have met a boy Eden and it didn’t seem weird to me, as I know in Israel it’s more common for boys than girls. Eden literally means delight and that definitely suits my little girl :)

I don't like the name actually. The name looks too plain and gender-ambiguous to me. But I've encountered mor female with the name Eden than males, so I can say that this is a girl's name, at gunpoint.

My son has a boy Eden in his class. I prefer it for a boy.

I have a difficult time imagining Eden as a guy name. I've met two gal Edens - one in my high school, one who is a child now.
I think it seems sort of hippie-ish. I get a similar vibe from it, as I do from Summer or Amity or Harmony or Haven. Or Taryn or India.
It's sunny and vaguely dreamy / mystical seeming.
In my mind Eden and Dana sort of go together, the letters and the unisex aspect - but Dana seems more unisex to me than Eden, because I knew a guy Dana before I met any gal Danas. I like both names, much more for gals.
On a guy Eden might seem kind of like Canyon - sort of the guy equivalent of Bluebell or Daisy. Doesn't appeal to me, but doesn't repel me either.

In the 2015 movie The Invitation, there's a character called Eden, "Edie", and when I saw that I suddenly liked Eden. Before that I found it very hard to connect with, it gave me that Uncanny Valley sort of disgust. But Edie humanized it.
Eden on a boy still gives me that disgust, like it's not a human being. I think it could work, though somehow it feels like boy-Eden has more "baggage". It feels like a billboard for something and I'm suspicious of what they're trying to sell me. I guess I'd have to meet a real person with this name to see how I really feel. So I guess I prefer it as a female name!

I like it, though I would most likely not use it. It leans feminine to me, mostly because the only Edens I have met were girls, but I can see it on a guy as well.
