I met a girl once named this, nicknamed "Pearlie". I think it's pretty, however I am a fan of gemstone names in general.

I like it. It’s short and spunky (can’t really describe it as sweet). I think I prefer it as a middle name.

I don't like jewel names in general. Nor do I enjoy the -er- sound, as in Bertha and Gertrude. Two strikes, and Pearl is out; anyway, I much prefer Margaret.

It's ok

Pearl is lovely and I wouldn’t be surprised to meet a baby Pearl now as I can see the name having a bit of a resurgence.

Pearl's darling and would age beautifully.

I love Pearl. I love gemstone names in general though. I think I like it better as a middle name.

I think that Pearl is a beautiful name, though I do prefer Margaret (meaning “pearl”). Of the gem names, I think that Pearl would be my favorite one; pearls have always been very special to me!

Pearl has been one of my favorites for ages! I even considered it for myself but didn't think I could pull it off. I love the symbolism of pearls, to me they are about making survival and self protection beautiful.I started loving Pearl extra hard after I met a truly adorable lady named Pearl at one of my summer jobs. She was a resident at a care home and she was so sweet and happy; one of those rare cases of dementia where not remembering made a person happier and more innocent. She thought she was very young and "on vacation" away from her family farm, and every day she would excitedly tell me about all the chickens she had back home and how beautiful they were. I loved her and it made me love Pearl ten times more. Pearl is probably one of my tip top favourites along with Ruby. I know Pearl is a little clunky and silly old fashioned, but that just makes me feel more protective of it.
