Kenneth is short enough not to need a nn, especially one with the same number of syllables. If necessary, Ken is fine.

Penelope on the other hand is beautiful but inconveniently long. Penny works well; so would Nell though I've never met one.

Penny. I'm not sure why. I used to really dislike it, but now I think its cute. Kenny is cute too, but I guess I prefer childlike names on girls (?)
