[Opinions] Clementine
A couple of years ago I had a feeling as if Clementine could become a new trend. I think it was used by Claudia Schiffer (a model, who appeared in "Love, Actually") and for a character in "The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", which is great, by the way). Well, that film was released in 2004 when I was a kid, but I felt like it had quite the impact for years to come on DVD and so on.But Clementine never really happened. Do you think it still will? Do you like it?I pronounce it to rhyme with "wine". I like it, I'm just not so fond of Clem.

The only Clementine I know, in her early 30s, is actually a Clementene because that is the pronunciation her parents wanted. She's always called Clemmie, so it hardly matters, except that she doesn't get serenaded with'Oh my darling, oh my darling ...' five times a day. Which is a big deal.As a name, it doesn't appeal. I'm very fond of Clemency and would consider using it.

I love Clementine. I love how folksy it is, but I think many people don't like that about it. I think the Clem, Clemmie nickname issue is what makes this name a rather niche choice as well. Maybe with the rise of cottagecore and pioneercore or whatever, Clementine's time is yet to come!

I've met a couple in their early 20s, both go by Clem. It's pretty but not a favourite. I think it will continue to climb very slowly but it doesn't have a sound that is popular with lots of people.

Clementine is lovely, though it's a bit too associated with 2010s hipster parents for my liking.I adore Clement for a boy and Clemence (English pronunciation) for a girl.

Don't like it at all, Clem very masculine and old fashioned name

I don't know why, but I'm not really a fan. It just sounds more like a pet name to me than a real name. Also, it looks like it's already making a comeback.

I like it on a human, too. But I sort of agree with you as I immediately pictured how perfectly it would fit a black cat.

Yes, it would work very well on a cat or a dog!
