Help[Opinions] Freddie
I'm really beginning to like the name Freddie (for a boy). I usually dislike too nickname-y names, but somehow I like Freddie better on its own than as a mere NN for some other name. It's probably because Frederick, Manfred, Wilfred, Alfred, and other 'fred' names are just "meh." or OK to me (the only one I really, really like is Winifred, but alas - I don't like the nn Freddie on a girl). Do you think Freddie is strong enough to stand on its own? If not, can you suggest me any names it could be a NN for other than the ones I already mentioned?

Freddie's cute, but I don't think it'd stand alone that well. And I love Frederick, btw. Freddie is not strong enough on its own, imo - I think it's because of the -ie at the end. If it were just Fred it would have been fine. I also like Friedrich.
I went and checked, and discovered Frediano and Godofredo. I'm trying to decide whether I like them - I don't think so.
It's too bad, because I love Winifred and Frederica on girls, and I don't like Fred/Freddie on girls.
