I hate Carly, but it's definitely better spelled this way. I don't think it should ever be used as a full name; as a nickname for Caroline, Carol, Carla or Carolina it's much nicer.

Carly's not really my style, but it's ok. I like it better as a nn for Charlotte or Caroline because Carly on its own sounds sort of young and informal (I prefer more formal names as given names), but I've only met Carlys who full name was Carly. Please no cutesy spellings, though (Carlee, Carli, Carleigh, etc.)!

I think Carly is a great nickname for Charlotte. Much better than Charlie or Char. I prefer it spelled Carly.

Dislike it as a full name. It sounds incredibly cutesy and too babyish for an adult. I could tolerate it as a NN for something like Caroline, Carla, or Carlotta, but I definitely don't like it as a full name.

I agree with Soul. I have 2 cousins named Carly, and I find it a bit sad that they have no "grownup" name to use. DH :-)

I'm neutral. It's a decent name, but not one that I would use. Carly and Carlie are both ok spellings. I think that the name is fine on its own.

I really like it, spelt Carly or Karly would work too.I agree with mirfak that it could be a nn for Carla which is also nice."GoTheSaints"

Carly is just okay for me...nothing I love or would ever use. I think it's fine on its own. My favorite spelling is Carly, though I can tolerate Carlie. Personally, though I'd much prefer other, similar C names: Carrie (which I love), Caroline, or Charlotte.

I don't know why I like it, but it always comes to mind when I think of names I like. Spelled Carly, but I could stomach Carlee or Carlie. It's alright as a full name, but personally I think I'd use it for a Carla.- mirfak

I like it the way you have it spelled: Carly. It's OK as a full name, but I prefer it as a nn for Carlotta, or Charlotte, or even Caroline.
