[Opinions] Ciara / Kiera ...
Would Ciara automatically get KEE-air-ah in North America? Is Kiera the best bet for KEER-ah?How would you rank Ciara, Kiera, Keira, & Kyra (I know it could get KY-rah, but I wonder if the influence of Kyra Sedgwick makes KEER-ah more probable?) in order of preference & assuming I would be pronouncing it like KEER-ah? Neither Kira or Keara are really my style either and Keira is my least favourite of the ones listed - I think I before E except after C.ETA: What do you think of Ciaran / Kieran and its potential to go with Finlay and Rowan?

I don't live in N. America, so I don't know what pronunciation you would be more likely to get.I like Ciara best, followed by Kiera and the Keira. Maybe Keira Knightley would influence people into pronouncing Kiera / Keira right?Kyra I don't see as KEER-a at all, and I don't like Kira or Keara in the slightest. LOL at I before E except after C though, you've obviously had it drummed into you!I like Ciaran / Kieran as well, and think it goes well with Finlay and Rowan, although it might look a bit odd if all the names are so obviously Irish-themed except for Rowan.

There is the singer Ciara so that would probably influence the prn. Most would say the C like an S. And I know you don't like Keira, because of the I before E rule, but really the I is prn like a Y as in KEYR-ah. Like a Key sound almost. I'm afraid Kyra would get KY-rah because most people would associate it with Tyra, as in Tyra Banks. My best friend has a niece named Kiara (KEY-air-ah) and to me Kiera looks like that name. The only Kira I have actually met spelled it Kira. So I'm afraid you would constantly be correcting people on prn if you went with any of the spellings you like. You may have to decide which is more important to you: the spelling or the prn?? But out of your choices the one that I would prn KEER-ah is Keira ( I know, you one you don't like!:( ) I hope some of my rambling helps!!!
