[Opinions] Jesse on a boy?
What do you think of Jesse on a boy? Has it become lost to the girls? Thanks!

it is common for girls, but i still think it is a good name for a boy
I love Jesse for a boy, but wouldn't use it here in England because you only ever hear it used for girls (Jessie, not Jesse though).
I don't think so. All the Jesse's I know are boys and the girls I know named Jessica would prefer not go by it so I really think it would work.
That said, I think it's a nice name.

I think of Bridge to Terabithia, i prefer on a boy, but wouldnt use
Ditto
I don't like Jesse on a boy. It seems lower class for some reason to me. Maybe because it is like a nickname but there is nothing for it to me a nickname to. I've never liked.
I don't think though that you shouldn't use it just because of all the female Jessie's, Jessy's, Jessi's, etc. Most of the time, they are all Jessica's anyway.

I like this name on a boy, I prefer Jessa on a girl. :)
Love it (and its still highly recognized as a boys name)
I love Jesse as a full name (although it is a little nny) for a boy or a nn for a girl. I dont know which I prefer, but probably for a boy because I really dont care for any of the possible full names for a girl.
I think Jesse works fine as a boys name, and it surely isnt lost. If you are worried him having a "girls" name, Jesse isnt nearly as common as Madison, Taylor or anything in that category, and (from what I've seen) its always a nn on a girl.
ETA: popularity charts prove its still recognized as a boys name

That spelling is all boy.
Spelled like this, it is a boys name.
It's been growing on me recently, prolly because I recently met some Jesse's.

I personally don't like it but I definitely think of it as a male name. If you add an 'i' to make 'Jessie", then it becomes feminine imo.
Where I live, I wouldn't use it (though I love it) it's not established as a boys' name, and Jessie is such a popular female name (albeit for older women now). To add to this, "jessie" is common slang for an effeminate or wimpy male. It wouldn't go down well :-(
In the States, it should be fine. Isn't it fairly popular there?

Here in England it's just not used for boys, but in America or elsewhere there shouldn't be a problem
Jesse is the masculine spelling. It's a great name.
