[Opinions] Patricia or Patience
Okay, so a thought just occured to me. You see I like the idea (when I have children) of honoring family members. My paternal grandmother's name is Patricia Irene, and I thought, well Patience isn't that much of a stretch. As my grandmother is most often called Pat.
What do you think? Good idea?
Anyway, I'm off to look for some names with similar meanings to that of Patricia, cause to be honest, I've never much liked the name.

Sorry, I just don't like Patience. I can see how you connect the two names, but I wouldn't advice using it.A very, very, very long time ago, someone (I just can't remember who, though, sorry) posted about the name Hypatia with the nn Patsy and I thought, "hmm...that would not be the worst name to use if I wanted to honor my mom someday... Patsy is a nn for Patricia after all..." My mom's name it Patricia nn Patti~ Arcadia

Thanks. Only when I think of Patsy, I immediately think country and western. Hypatia, isn't my style and brings to mind the word Hype.
Maybe I'll just keep looking.

A sensible answer :-) . . .I'm not hugely fond of Patricia but it's my grandmother's middle name so I do hold it in regard as a middle name. I can't see Patience coming from it though. I don't like Patience because I'm very wary of "virtue" names - growing up is hard enough without having a serious behavioural expectation built into your name from day 1!

Patience is nice if you have lots of it,
But Patricia is nice if you like fish,
But if you don't mind I need a chair to sit,
You see Trish rhymes with Fish,So therefore if you like fish,
You might not be patient,
But you obviously would like the name Trish,
But Trish is ancient,The ancient nickname for Patricia,
Patience is what you need,
In order to do the dishes-a,
So to suceed,To mind read you must be able to rhyme,
NOT or I would be an astronaut,
But you will know which name is best over time,
Don't ask me for I was certainly not taught,
About the realtionship of the colour of a lime and and a rhyme?
