I do like Damien very much I consider it a very beatiful name. But I must admit that if I have to choose it will clearly be Damon. For some reasons I find it much more masculine. It is shorther, more tough and a little bit mysterious.
I don't connect it with demon. I rather think about Ian Somerhalder from "The Vampire Diaries". I don't like that show, but I can not help but like the dark and mysterious type who Ian Somerhalder plays as Damon Salvatore:)

My friend's partner is Damien, so that is the version I'm more used to. Usually I don't enjoy French (or any foreign-language) spellings unless the French pronunciation is used, but Damien slips under my radar.Damon is so wonderfully Runyon! As a name, I don't like it, but as a reminder of some of the funniest stories ever written down, I love it. Wouldn't use it, though. Might use Damien, given enough sons - and one never is.

I like the sound of Damon more than Damian, but I'd go with Damian because Damon would probably be associated with Matt Damon by many. It's not that I dislike Matt Damon or anything. I just wouldn't want people to think that I named my child after him, and I have a feeling that I would get a lot of comments such as "Oh, like Matt Damon!" I think that would get old.

Damian because Damon seems too close to demon for me. Also I have known 2 Damian's & no Damon's.

I like both. I like Damien and Damian; but if I had to use one I'd pick Damien. I actually might prefer Damon to either spelling though. The vowels look more balanced in Damon. Also I really like Daemon (prn DAY-mon, not demon) as a GP, but I have a feeling it would never happen IRL :P

I prefer Damian/Damien to Damon. For me, Damon is too close to the word demon. Even though everyone seems to associate Damian with The Omen/the devil, it doesn't have that association for me because it doesn't sound close enough to the word.

Damon. I do like the Damien spelling over Damian; I find the latter to look a bit harsh.

DamianI just generally like -ian names and Damon is too close to demon for me.

DamienDamian looks dark and creepy
Damien is brighter and friendlier. And also I heart Damien Rice.
Damon is completely unattractive. It makes me think of the barbeque/steakhouse restaurant, plus it's very close to "demon."So yeah, Damien it is.

I think Damian is much nicer. I find the "shape" and sound of it more attractive and like most names ending in -ian, though not Ian. As for Damon, I dislike most names ending in -on and I find it looks tacky.

I prefer Damian. I find it more handsome and elegant than just Damon. Damon feels incomplete when compared with Damian.

I prefer Damian. This may seem really shallow, but Damian seems more intelligent and sharper than Damon, which seems thuggish and slow. I like that Damian has a bit more clarity and sparkle and energy, while Damon is earthy and dense. I prefer Damien as a spelling though.PS, I have a cousin named Damon and he's not a thug at all so I don't know where I get that association from. He is a good country boy, actually.

I prefer Damien because (1) it's my brother's mn (Peter Damien) and (2) Father Damien deserves to be honored. He cared for leapers and eventually died on the disease.
