I know the story of the name Olive and I know that it's a tree, too. I just don't care for it.
No need to be so angry!
I don't understand what I have done wrong?
First of all, English is not my first language. Actually, Olive used to remind me of Minette Walter's "Sculptress" in which Olive is a woman accused of a bestialic murder, and that's why I didn't like it originally.
But then I read so many comments by English-speakers who wrote "Olives are food, olives are food, yak, yak". So now, food is what I associate the name with. I thought it was the right thing to write to English-speakers...I didn't mean any harm...
And I know what olives trees look like, I have seen them in Greece. I'm not stupid, but I feel very stupid when you react like this and give me a lesson.
I feel very sad and upset right now.
