Charles
Just wondering what people think of this name. It's been in my head a lot lately. Frankly, I just feel like it's a fun name to say. Try saying Charles out loud a few times. :-) I think if I actually used it, I would use the nickname Charlie most often, but I also don't mind Chuck or Chip thrown around now and then either, though I really can't stand Chas or Chaz.
My favorite combo with it is Charles Gavin. I like that Charles is a little more timeless, whereas Gavin (though it's a fave of mine) sounds a bit trendy.
What do you think of the name Charles? Too out-dated or stuffy? Is Charlie too cutesy or could it wear well with time? Any other nick names you'd prefer? Any combos you like with it? Any and all opinions of this name are welcome. Thanks!

Charles is one of those names I have never liked, and can't see myself ever liking. The sound is unappealing to me, and gives me a pretentious vibe. I think the majority of the nicknames are just as horrible, particularly Chuck and Chas/Chaz. Charlie, however, is another matter entirely. I think it's great.

Charles is great. It can be dressed up or down. It's regal, but not pretentious. Love it. Charles Gavin is wonderful. My combos for him are Charles Emmerich and Charles Aubrey.

For me, Charles is stuffy and out-dated. But I can see the appeal of Charlie, which I don't think is too cutesy longterm. And Chip is pretty sweet. :) Charles Gavin does have a delightful unexpectedness to it, that I admire.
