Re: Blathnat, Blaanid and Blaíthín -- flowers, flowers, everywhere flowers
in reply to a message by Bear
Blah, nit! While that is an accurate reflection of how I feel about nits, I think it's a dreadful name, sorry. Blaithin could grow on me, though it bothers the purist in me that it's a diminutive.Other names that mean flower that I like/find interesting:
Calanthe
Hana
Kasumi
Leilani
Mbali
Malai
Millaray (inexplicably enticing)
Zahrah
Nevena
Azucena
Nasrin
AyameAnd I just stumbled across Annagül ("Friday rose"), which is objectively rather ugly but for some reason I find it oddly appealing. Maybe that's how you feel about Blathnat. :p

Actually, I'm surprised how well the Blah names are be received overall. I didn't expect any takers. So the fact that you are even open to Blaithin is a plus in my book. :0) And you've listed so many great names, especially Millaray. I find it equally mesmerizing. I'm being drawn more and more to B and G sounds. Heavy sounding names are starting to appeal, so Annagul is right up my alley at the moment. Thanks!
