I really like the name Asher too. I like that it's a Biblical name but its less used, at least so far. I personally have never met an Asher. I think Asher and Jasper go well together as far as the feel of the name. They are similar in structure though (two syllable, ending in -er, with the same vowel) so that would be my only hesitation.
