Re: Not using names due to popularity?
Popularity is definitely a deterrent to me in using a name. When I was choosing a name for my daughter, I knew that anything that was in the top 50 at that time was definitely out, no matter how much I may have liked it. The one name that I really love that I would not have used due to popularity is Alexander. If I'd ever had a second son, in one way I would have loved to name him Alexander, for the name itself, but then no way due to its popularity level. I've known too many Alexes. I think Evander makes a great alternative to the overused Alexander and would like to see it used more often. But not to the point that it becomes too popular, lol!
