I will never understand the appeal of Aaliyah. Never heard it on an Arabic-speaker (not that I know hundreds of them) and I don't understand why anyone outside of that culture would want to use it - IMO it looks weird and doesn't even sound nice.
Abigail is in my top 10 worst-names-that-are-actually-commonly-used. I HATE it. It's awful. Playing around with the spelling does not make it any nicer. Bleaurk.
Abbruzzese - wha?
Aberdeen - ahahaha. Here in the UK, a girl called Aberdeen would be laughed at so much.
Acacia - interesting. It's so pointy and weird and alien and awkward. Downside, sometimes, and I know not why, it makes me think of poo.
Adair - no idea why anyone would want to use this name. Trendy, bland, boring, and somehow ugly and butch. Yuck.
Adara - pretty.
Adelina - the only Adelaide/Adeline/whatever type name I can stand. I don't much care for it all the same.
Adestes - rhyming with testes?
Adhira - Adhara is so much prettier.
Adilee - so annoying for some reason.
Adler - squick. Like Irene Adler? With all due respect, I hate insane and inane 'fandoms', they creep me the hell out. Being a fan is all well and good, being obsessive is creepy. (Plus I really hate Sherlock, with all due respect to those who like it)
Adonica - whut?
Adora - ahahaa. Oh god, please let a little Adora grow up to be a mean and moody gothic type with spikes in her eyebrows and an all black leather/latex wardrobe and a copy of The Satanic Bible under her arm. Please.
Adore - ditto.
Adream - well, I just nearly threw up in my mouth a little.
Adria - the even weaker, even wimpier, even milksop-ier younger sister of Andrea, Adrian and Adriana. The faintest mention of the touch of a butterfly's wing makes her turn green and spew milk-foam from her perpetually stuffy nose.

Aara /Aarah - I like this one even though I've never seen it before. I'm bother by the double A. Arah is better in my opinion.Adeline/ Adelyn
