As someone whose name is Rose, and only that, I can say it's certainly more interesting if my parents would've given me a variant of it which can be shortened to Rose. It would be much more classy. I also lack a middle name, which makes it even shorter. My favourite variants are probably Roselyn/Roselynn and Rosemarie.

No problem! It was really funny, since I'm currently planning on (unofficially) extending my name to one of those options; so when I came across this question it was a very funny coincidence that I just had to reply to! (:
