I, um, really like Allyn. A lot. *blush* I first spotted it in a novel a long time ago, and I thought it was pretty and feminine. I can be slow sometimes, I guess, because I admired it for years before it finally dawned on me that it was just Allen run through the Y=feminine spin cycle (something I usually dislike). I still like Allyn, and if I had a reason to use it like you do, I'd go for it. But since the Y spellings aren't working for you...

I think the simplest way is usually better, so Alana is my pick of the rest. Alanna might be quite a good choice for you if it would reference both your dad and a character you care about.
