You know, I've been trying to figure out for a while what puts me off the name Ian, which is considerably more "normal" than many other names I come across on a day-to-day basis. But you're right: it's one giant whine. Same goes for Neil.
Brock, to me, has always sounded like a douchey jock pumped full of steroids. I cannot shake that image for the life of me.
Garth also does sound like throw-up, and Ralph is a literal synonym for throwing up, so I agree with you on these as well.
I would like Felix, if it weren't such a cat name. (Same with Sebastian.)
