1. My grandmother was due to be born in June so her parents were set on that name. She came early in May, but they called her June anyway. I don't think it really matters at all, especially with the more common month names.
2. I think Autumn, Summer, January, April, May, June, (and September and December at a stretch) are all usable. I only really like May and June. I have a soft spot for January but don't think I'd personally ever use it.
3. I think using the month as inspiration is a good way to go if you think the month name is unusable - Julia/Julius, Avril and Octavia are good examples.
