Shankley sounds like a synonynomin for thin, sickly or ugly.
And if anyone ever read the maze runner (movie hitting theaters in 3vweeks) you will understand that the use of the word "Shank" is slang. Also slang in real life where someone stabs someone. Yikes, the hell was that mother thinking?
Also was the 3 year old girl swearing?! If so, bad parenting.

I had forgotten about the Maze Runner, but yes that makes the name even more stupid. I'm looking forward to the film; I enjoyed the book (the sequels weren't so good though).
