Tamsin or Enya?
Which do you like better?
We'd decided Tamsin was nicest and fitted best but now I'm wavering between Tamsin and Enya. Probably I'm thinking about it too much but I can't help it >_<Which'd you chose? And why? Her twin will be Maeve Luna (no wavering there!) and her older brother is Leo Alexander.

Enya, a thousand times over. It's lovely in an ethereal kind of way, and I'm not real fond of girl names that end in -n. Tamsin's one of the best of the bunch but still.

Wow, someone who says Enya!! I was starting to think there would be no one ^_^Thanks

Definitely Tamsin - agree with everyone else about Enya. Aine and Maeve would be nice, though, if you didn't mind explaining the pronunciation.

Thanks :)I love Aine was on the list but we struck it off cos the the pronunciation thing. I mean, it's not just us who'll have to explain it over and over. She will too and it'd get super annoying.

I love both names. I'm not sure how usable Enya is or if it is too tied up with the singer (although I am a fan of her music). Personally I prefer the spelling Tamsyn but the general consensus when I've asked about it before is that Tamsin is better.

Thanks :)
I like her music too but I'm starting to think Enya is too tied up with the singer. Everyone is saying it! And cos I teach at a music school I don't really want people to think I named one of my daughters after her.I definitely like Tamsin better than Tamsyn.

My vote's for Tamsin, but I think both are wonderful and work well in the set. You can't go wrong and it seems like maybe you should wait till you see her!

Thank you! I'm glad you like both names :D
I guess that's true but my brain keeps thinking and thinking about it and sometimes spills out into posts here xD

Tamsin, hands down.

Tamsin!I think Tamsin is so charming and underused. Enya sounds like nothing to me, like it was made up, like you just stuck two insubstantial syllables, name parts but not full names, together.

I'm happy you think Tamsin is so charming ^_^Enya isn't made up (but you probably know that) and I kinda think that any name a person's never heard before will just sound made up.
Thanks for your comment!!

Tamsin does it for me, without a doubt. Enya is pop-goddess flimsy.

Thanksnt ;P

Definitely Tamsin. Enya just makes me think of the singer!!

So people keep saying xD She can't be the only person in the world named Enya but if the association is that strong for people we're probably better not using it!
vote up1
I like Enya's music, so I like the association. Besides there are definitely worse namesakes to have. :)
vote up1
Tamsin, because I just think it's a nicer name. Even if Enya had no association with the singer, I wouldn't pick it. It doesn't sound much like a name to me for some reason. Tamsin goes nicely with Maeve and Leo (although Enya does too). Maeve Luna is lovely!

Thanks ^_^ I'm happy you think they go together and you like Maeve Luna too!We originally started liking Enya cos it's so close to Anya but Anya is technically a nickname and Enya is not.

Tamsin by a landslide. Enya is way too tied to the singer.

By a landslide :DOkay. Starting to think you guys are right and Enya IS too tied to the singer.

I like Tamsin!

Thanks!

Definitely Tamsin. I think it goes really well with Maeve, and Enya just reminds me of the singer.
vote up1
Thanks :)Enya's got some awesome music though so I don't mind the association. But if that's the only think people ever think of, I dunno. Maybe it's best if people didn't think we named her for a singer.

SecondingAgree with all of thisEnya= Irish singer

Enya but I also like Ena (E nuh) not sure in Enya is pronounced the same wayTamsin just doesnt appeal to me much
vote up1
Enya is said EN-ya and I think Ena is EE-na? If Ena is like "EN-a" then I like it but if it's EE-na that's going to be funny when people say "Hi Ena." Hyena! xD
vote up1
Hyena. Haha! :P thats so funny! Never thought of that before. Ena (E nuh) isnt something I'd name a child
I just prefer the pronounciation of E nuh rather then En-a
A guilty pleasure nameBut still: Enya (En-ya) over tamsin

I actually like both. What about Enya Tamsin as a combo it would be lovely with Maeve Luna, though I think Luna Maeve flows much better.
vote up1
Enya Tamsin is lovely but we'd rather use a middle name we love but we'd not use as a first name. Like Luna which is why we we'd not use Luna Maeve even though the flow is a little better than Maeve Luna. Luna for us isn't really best as a first name.Thank you :)
