Desdemona was a really minor character in Gargoyle's though, and I don't think her name was ever mentioned in the show, just in production material if I remember correctly. Ah, it doesn't really matter. Either way, I'm actually rather pleased to see Desdemona used in real life! I don't think I would ever really use it personally, but I do think it's a very beautiful name. I do have a bit of trouble seeing the name on a one-year-old, just because it's so much name, but I think Mona could fix that easily (or even Desi, if you don't mind being compared to a Cuban musician). Wonderful sighting!

Yeah, the one referred to as Desdemona in production material was a minor Gargoyle involved in a storyline involving two minor male Gargoyles referred to as Iago and Othello. Desdemona, Othello, and Iago were merged into one cyborg gargoyle known as Coldstone, until they were all eventually put in separate android bodies; Coldfire, Coldstone, and Coldsteel, respectively.
Although, in hindsight, the parents could have named their daughter after Demona and just used Desdemona as a way to make it appear more name like, completely unaware that there was already an entirely different gargoyle named Desdemona. S'pose we'll never really know.
