Re: Name for a dog...

I've got a Westie female named Wuffles, after Lord Vetinari's terrier in the Discworld books.
I've always had females, but I've also often imagined owning three Scotties - Angus, Fergus and Magnus. Maybe some day ...
My default name for a black dog, Scottie or Schnauzer (we had a grey Schnauzer once, called Bellabark), is Sonnet. The Dark Lady.
Otto is brilliant for Old English sheepdogs, as is Anna, because it's so hard to tell which end is the front unless they're moving.
Cormac would be gorgeous on a male, and you could use Maxine, nn Mackie, in the event of a female.
