Re: Sonnet, Minuet, Zimri, Reed and Harmony
in reply to a message by Anneza
to be honest... Minuet stems more from my love of Star Trek and sci-fi than music. It seems to be a staple for supporting characters.
I really just want the name Min, but the hubs wants something longer.
Sonnet is a great dog name too.

Min, eh? Minette is good, and fabulous with Clarisse. Or - these are heavy Germanic but could work for you - Hermina and Wilhelmina. If you either love or don't mind Harry Potter, there's always everyone's favourite schoolwitch: Minerva.
Minette is lovely, but has a rather off-color usage in French slang that I don't care for. We have an equivalent English word, but ours relates to cats.
Minerva I adore, but DH does not.
Hermina is a bit to close to Hermione and Wilhelmina too Germanic. I did consider a more modern Willamina... and we also looked at Jasmine, Noemin, Carmina, Mindy, Araminta, Aamina, Thamina and Domino.
Plus Minnie Mouse was Minerva Mouse, so I love that connection even more.
