Oh man, I was just left a message on the opinions board about just this thing, male names with an -ie/y ending being commandeered for females.
I hate Finley on a girl, mostly because I want it to stay a boys names. I don't like unisex names and especially unisex names that were originally meant for one gender over the other.
But worse is Charlie. Its okay as a nickname for Charlotte, but sucks on its own. It sounds childish.
And yep, you hit the nail on the head about Grace & Rose.
