1) I've never met a male Connie and it does sound somewhat lady-fied to me. But I like Con, and think Conrad is fine without any shortening.
2) I like Jason. I associate it with hot Greek heroes, as I've never actually met a Jason irl. Sure it was popular in the 70s and 80s, but with the mythology and the fact that it's been in use in English for a long time, it feels like a solid, decent, handsome sort of name.
3) Nope, I don't think Alaric is especially weird. There are kids out there called Renesmee and Khaleesi and stuff. It's not that tricky to pronounce, people will get it.
