Evelyn nn Ever?
Does Ever work as a nickname for Evelyn? What other names could have Ever as a nn?Bonus question- which do you prefer for a girl, Ever or River?ETA: wdyto Everlily as a name (vs two names or a hyphenated name)?-------------------

I think Evelyn nn Ever is like the epitome of cliché hipster-crunchy fusion. :) It would make me roll my eyes to encounter, honestly.I quite like River on a girl! I think it's quirky and upbeat.I'm just not a fan of Ever as a name in general. I would definitely prefer it as a nickname for a name already having Ever in it. Everlily I'm not sure on. It's a bit over the top I think. I do like it better together than as Ever-Lily. It's less obvious without the hyphen.

Evelyn nn Ever
Yes, that could work. But it feels like a bit of a desperate way to get Ever in there. I would like it better if Evelyn's middle name started with an R. Evelyn River, for example, nickname Ever.Ever or River
Ever. But both are very nice and very you. Everlily vs Ever Lily vs Ever-Lily
Hm. I think it would depend on the combo. FairlyLongName Ever Lily. Shorty Everlily 2ndMiddle. You know what I mean?

Sure, it works as a nn for Evelyn. It would work for any Ev- names that are pronounced with that "eh" sound: Everly, Eva (Eh-va, not EE-va), Evangeline. I like it most as a standalone, though.I like them almost evenly, but I prefer River today. Everlily is nmsaa, no matter how it's spelled. It sounds like a name a little girl would pick for her Pixie Hollow fairy.

I think Ever could stand on its own as a name. I think it's a bit of stretch to use it for Evelyn, especially as it has no "R" sound. I prefer River to Ever. I think Everlily would be better as Ever Lily. It might make the spelling and pronunciation clearer to people, and could easily be shortened to just Ever. It's not my style but I think the name has a very pretty, feminine vibe.

Evelyn nn Ever is cute! I like it. I also like the idea of Beverly with the nn Ever :)I think I prefer Ever over River. There's something so abrupt and obvious about River. Ever is more...gentle, poetic. Everlily is pretty. I also like the shorter Everly.

No! Evelyn is one of my favorite names. I don't like seeing it be "shortened" to Ever. :(I myself would much rather be River than Ever. Everlily is pretty, but kind of dumb. I picture a dumb girl when I hear it. :P

I'd rather just see Ever as a name than as a nickname.

Ever works as a nn for Evelyn quite well. It could also work for Evangeline, maybe.
I don't like Ever or River, but if I had to choose I'd pick Ever.
Ever Lily is better than Everlily is better than Ever-Lily. It's not that great as a person name, honestly.
