My parents considered Elizabeth nn Beth. They considered that before I was born and decided on my actual name before I was born, also. I never heard of a name picked out if I had been a boy. My mother never wanted a boy, so the failure to choose a boys' name was probably wishful thinking on her part, which happened to work out.
