I agree. I find Anastasia Petrove to be recognizable but strong - and I would have assumed Russian.
I think it is a fine choice, but if the asker is still looking for suggestions, I offer two:
1) Nevena Petrova "Nev" - Nevena means "marigold", which is yellow and may remind the character of the sun that she cannot be out in (I assume, vampire..), or maybe she chooses Nevena because of the marigold's healing properties. Either way, pretty name.
2) Galena Petrova "Gale" - Galena means "calm" and is a Bulgarian name, the spelling Galina is Russian. It just seems like a great name if she has a stoic or calm personality.
