Re: Damian and Damon
For interesting perspective, here's a four year old thread I posted about this topic.

I wonder how the answers you get will be different.Personally I like Damon more, it happens to be my favorite name at the moment and I would name a son it (if I were having one, which I'm not). I like it more for reasons similar to some of the ones given by people in that thread - the impression Damon gives me is more stoic/heroic, while Damian is more handsome/clever (and Damien is positively sparkly IMO). I also like Damian though. Both Damon and Damian seem classic and reliable to me. The first time I met a guy named Damian I thought, really? People use it even though "the Omen"? And then I thought - and why shouldn't they, it's a nice name after all, friendly and calm sounding. I'm sure others probably do the same thing when they meet a Damon - throw out their silly ideas about it sounding like demon. And if they don't, well, I sorta feel sorry for them. - mirfak

I'm so sick of people relating Damian with "The Omen". If we are to stop liking names because of FICTIONAL horror movie villains, why not also hate Jason (Friday The 13th), Frederick (Nightmare on Elm Street), Charles (Child's Play), Michael (Halloween), Isaac (Children of the Corn) and so on? It's ridiculous in my opinion
