Re: Sedona

When I think of Sedona I think of Californian tourists and New Agers, rather than the landscape surrounding Sedona. *sigh* Probably because it was the first town I explored after a long road trip through the deserts of Utah, New Mexico, and Arizona, and what I saw was the touristy part of town. So the landscape wasn't what struck me about the town, so much as the contrast between my road-scruffy feeling and the shininess of the people on Sedona's cute shopping blocks. lol. I had heard that Sedona had some attraction for New Age types.Well, that was in the 90s. I guess I don't know anymore. I think I can't do any better at evoking the Southwest landscape with a pleasing name. It's a nice name. I would prefer Sidonia because it seems more of a first name to me, and less of a place name. Also the sed- part of Sedona makes me think of the word sedation. I would not think of that if I met someone named Sedona. It might occur to me to wonder if her parents were New Agers. The combo Sedona Jessamy is nice.
