Yikes! I suppose it's no worse than Sage or Hazel, but it is startling. And why state publicly that your daughter is a nut? Very strange!

Let me know where I can send her a sympathy card. Honestly, who wants to be called Nutmeg? Who wants Nut as a big part of their name? When I was very young I remember reading a cousin's magazine, some kind of Christian teen magazine, and there was a shorty story in it about an American girl whose family took in a Cambodian? Vietnamese? refugee girl about her age, and the narrator was jealous because this new girl was getting all the attention. Anyway, the little brother nicknamed the new girl Nutmeg because he thought she was just that color. At first the parents scolded him, but Nutmeg somehow stuck.

Was it a nickname? I could definitely see it as a cute nickname for a Margaret or Megan. As a full fledged given name? Yuck.

Poor thing. I see so much teasing potential in Nutmeg.

Awwwww. What a great name for a pet. Pretty silly on a girl though.
