Opinions on our top girls name atm..
Emilia Ivy? Emilia is the only name Dh and I can agree on. Ivy is my DD's favourite name. Thanks in advance.

I like both names. Emilia is pretty and sophisticated. I approve.

fantastic. I really like the flow and the over sound is quite pretty. I personally prefer Amelia to Emilia... but both are lovely and I think work well with Ivy. I love that you are taking your daughter's opinion into account. I hear stories about kids who got their name from their siblings, and I melt. Using it as a middle is a great choice. Totally think you guys nailed this already. EDIT - I just read the other comments re:vowels. If it helps, I grew up with a name that had 13 letters in total and 9 of those were vowels... that is only 4 consonants! I loved my name and never had any problems. Sure, a few people mispelled it - but people will mispell any name really.

Emilia is fine if not very exciting. It's heaps better than Emily, though. As for the combo, I'm not wild about the flow of Emilia Ivy (all those vowels running together).

I think Emilia Ivy is darling. It's feminine and pretty but also not too frilly and definitely not dowdy. It's wonderful.

I like both names on their own very much.I don't think it is a bad combo, it's probably not the very best combo you could make.I feel if you and DH can only agree on Emilia, Emilia is her name. I wonder if your DD has any other middle name suggestions. I love Ivy, and I like my names a little vowel heavy, but it doesn't seem quite just right to me.I'm not really sure of your naming style, but I have just put some down below.Emilia Caroline
Emilia Catherine
Emilia Claire
Emilia Penelope
Emilia Justine
Emilia Simone
Emilia June
Emilia Hazel
Emilia Zoe
Emilia Wren
Emilia Daphne
Emilia Verity
Emilia Molly
Emilia Millicent
Emilia Marigold
Emilia Charlotte
Emilia Estelle

Great! I think it's a really nice combo and I love the name Ivy too!

I think it sounds very good!

I'm not a fan of Emilia or Amelia due to the "meel" sound in the middle. I think I prefer the Emilia spelling though.

Yeah, same here. That "meel" sound makes me cringe. I also can't stand Cecilia for the "seel" sound in the middle of it. Emilia just seems like a flimsy, insubstantial name to me. Too vowel-heavy is right. I really like Ivy though. You don't hear of many Ivy's around.

That's funny.
I have an Aunt Lucille and most people call her Lucy... but I always called her Cille (seel or seal). Aunt Cille. SO, to me the meel and seel sounds are endearing.

Very pretty. I prefer Emily in general but Emily Ivy doesn't work whereas Emilia Ivy does and is lovely. Ivy is my daughters middle name, I really love it

Sounds good to me :)

Gorgeous!!!!! Love it, both on its own and with your others. Isabel has good taste.

Too many vowels, that was my first thought. I doesn't flow well at all, it's confusing and it sounds weird and messy when you say it out loud.
Emilia and Ivy are both very boring names, imo. And they just don't work together.
I hope this won't upset you, I'm just being honest.

Thanks for your honesty. Not upsetting at all.

I like it! I know a little girl named Emilia. It sounds both sophisticated, and sweet. I like it tons better than Amelia or Emily. It probably gets mistaken for Amelia often, but that's not so much to deal with, I don't think. I like the combo with Ivy.

It seems kind of messy to me. Very vowel-heavy. When you say it your tongue has to rush all over the place! I've always liked Emmeline and Emmery most of that group of names, but if Emilia is really the only name you can agree on... in my opinion, you might want to try a different mn.

I really don't like it. It's trendy, boring, and bleh, nothing special.

Thanks for your opinion.

Thanks for saying this, I didn't want my comment to be upsetting, those names though are so popular now.
