Narrowing down a girl name
My husband and I are expecting our fourth baby later this year. Our older children are Heidi Olivia, Rhys Owen, and Griffin Henry. If it's a boy, we've decided to go with Anders Benjamin (our last two children have been boys, so we've really scoured boy names recently). However, if it's a girl, we're having a harder time deciding. My husband really likes Quinn, while I'm just "meh" toward it. He requested we use it as a middle name if we can't use it as a first name.
Currently, we're thinking of these girl names:
Lydia
Penelope (which I'm so torn about because I have vowed I will not use anything well within the top 100, but I've loved this name for so long)
Amelie
Piper
Elsa
Carys. What do you think of these? Which would you choose?

I like Amelie, Carys and Piper (in that order) for this set. Amelie has the same cuteness as Heidi to me. Carys and Piper have the "rugged" sound (for lack of a better term) to me that Rhys and Griffin have.

Lydia is beautiful and Lydia Quinn works surprisingly well, but if you truly love Penelope, go for it. It isn't as if Penelope is in the top ten or even the top 50.

Anders Benjamin does flow nicely. Quinn I only like for a boy and to me, it would be really out of place if used with your other kids names. All the other girls names you mentioned are nice, though I also think Piper is out of place in this set. Lydia or Amelie would get my vote, as both names are lovely and they compliment your other kids names. Lydia Penelope (maybe use it as a mn if you have always loved it?) and Amelie Carys are my fave combos.

I vote for Elsa Quinn, it is such a pretty name, and Heidi and Elsa really sound like sisters. Piper is lovely, too. I love Carys, but it doesn't really flow well with Quinn.

While, I totally get why you'd love Penelope. It's a darling. I don't think it or Amelie fit as well with your other children's names.Lydia Quinn would be my vote with your current set.Elsa Quinn would be my second.Piper & Carys also work well, but Carys Quinn might not be your cup of tea.I really like Quinn as a middle name.

With Heidi, Rhys and Griffin, I'd pick Amelie- I think it *fits* the others' style best. I love Lydia and Carys as first names also. I think Amelie Quinn is one of the best combos. Penelope Quinn and Elsa Quinn are nice too as far as combos go.

I like Lydia, Elsa and Amelie
Lydia Quinn is a nice combination, and I think that Lydia is a lovely classical name.
I've always liked the name Elsa and though it is well known name at the moment it is really nice, though it might not go with Quinn that well.
Amelia is one of my favourite names, Amelie is nice but I prefer it spelled Emilie and I think it goes well with Quinn.
Also Penelope is a lovely name, not a big fan of Penny but if you like the name then you should use it. Anders Benjamin is a great name

Anders Benjamin is great, and I love your boys' names. From the girls names on your list, I only like Elsa. And maybe Piper, but I've always seen this as a middle name only.
If you really love Penelope, you should just use it. I once vowed never to use a "popular" name too, but I've decided that my love for a name is more important than it's popularity. And Penelope isn't one of those annoyingly trendy names.

Quinn's not distinctly masculine. It's doing what Evelyn, Leslie, Kelsey, and Lynn did. I like it - I know a girl named Quinn and that helps a lot. It feels about like Lynn to me, only more distinctive. I think it goes well with the other names. It's a little trendier since it's a surname-name. I don't think it's too close to Griffin. I dunno, maybe I would just be excited if my husband had a name he really knew for sure he liked and wanted to use. That never happened for me. lolI also like Carys, Elsa, Penelope, Lydia. Quinn and Lydia are my favorites of all.
Amelie is a name that vexes me ... how do you say it? Uhmailya? Ah Mei Lee? Omily, rhyme Emily? Ammaly, rhyme family? Not working for me.Quinn is more of a younger-sister name than Lydia. But I slightly prefer the name Lydia in general and I guess I'd rather go thru life as a Lydia than as a Quinn. Depends. Elsa goes particularly well with Heidi IMO, but not so well with MN Quinn. So ... Lydia, Quinn, or Elsa. I personally would sit on that until the baby was born, and then choose.

Quinn is way too similar to Griffin for a first name IMO.I like all of the list except for Piper (too trendy and childish, and Piper Quinn is too ambiguous next to the all girl Heidi Olivia) and Penelope (the sound just not attractive to me, too Penelope the pig).My overall favourite is Carys. I love the look, the sound and the meaning. Not digging Carys Quinn so much as its rather choppy, but it's workable. My favourite with the others is Elsa. I think Elsa Quinn is spunky, and Elsie a cute name. I'm a huge fan of Amelie, and I like the balance of the frilly girly Amelie paired with no-nonsense unisex Quinn, so I think that one works too.And Lydia is my favourite pick with Heidi. I think Lydia Quinn is a good sister for Heidi Olivia. So really, I'm a fan of all 4 of those options. And I still love Griffin Henry!Congrats on the new little one.

Lydia, Carys and Elsa are nice. I think Elsa goes best with the sibset.I do like Penelope also, but it seems to be getting quite popular.

I'm not too fond of Quinn either. It's such a masculine name to me. If you have to use it, it's better in the middle name slot definitely.Lydia Quinn is a great combo, I think. Lydia softens Quinn's masculine side, and Quinn adds an edginess that Lydia lacks. I also think Lydia fits in well with siblings Heidi, Rhys, and Griffin. My second choice would be Elsa. Elsa goes even better with Heidi, Rhys, and Griffin, but Elsa Quinn isn't as great of a combo, imo.

Anders Benjamin is so handsomeLove Lydia (my daughter is Lydia Ivy nn Liddy or Liddylou)I also like Amelia and CarysElsa is too frozen for me, though I like Elsie. Quinn I ok, but doesn't have the same beauty as HeidiHeidi and Penelope would work wonderfully for sisters, I'm just not the biggest fan of Penelope

I'd chose Elsa or Carys. I like Penelope but heavily dislike Penny, I think Nell is cute and spunky.
Lydia is way too popular for my liking. Amelie just seems fake because Amelia is so popular it's trying too hard not to be. Piper has never floated my boat.
I like Quinn for a boy but not a girl, in the middle spot I suppose it's okay.Other ideas for you:
Amber
Anya
Bryony
Bella
Erin
Luna
Lila
Margot
Saffron
Willow:-)

I'd use Penelope without hesitation. I might consider Carys or Elsa. The others do not appeal at all, especially Piper and Quinn.

I would choose Lydia Quinn. Lydia is a stunning, classic name. You can't go wrong with it.
My runner up would be Penelope, and then either Amelie or Carys. Elsa is nice, but I prefer Elisabeth or Elizabeth, nn Elsa.
Piper is nms, personally. Heidi and Piper are a little too similar in sound for my liking as sisters together.
