Awwww:Florence
Frederick Valentine -- what a combo
Adelaide
Goldie
Giddeon Hannibal -- imagine a time when you didn't have to be defensive about loving the name Hannibal
Giddeon Merrick
Harriet Araminta -- a tad "t" heavy as a combo, but I'll cut the parents some slack because they are dead. (huh?)
Hattie
Helen Carlotta -- sounds like a dance
Henrietta
Hepsie -- Hepsibah? Too cool.
Herselia -- although I prefer Hersilia
Herbert Ralph
Horatio -- ! Horatia is fun too
Irene Augusta -- wow
Irving Edgar
Jennie
Eunice
Jessie -- as a nickname for Jean
James Waldo
Patrick
Joseph -- you're going to try to make me love Apollos but I'm not going to let you
Josiah
Kezia -- kicky
Laurentia -- why isn't this more popular?
Mehitable -- but only as Mehetabel
Louisa Blood -- for sheer guts -- I do like Blodwen, which sounds similar
Lucy Miranda:0)

Herselia, etc.Thank you, I was wondering if Herselia might be intended as a feminine form of Hershel or such. Don't find a forvo pron. for it; would it be an "ee" sound in the middle?I loved Irene Augusta, too, and I'm not particularly drawn to Augusta, generally.I'm guessing Blood is probably a family surname (where the 1871 published line of my 4th gr grandmother was really big into Puritan and obscure names, this 1888 published line of my 4th gr grandfather is just wild about surname names); I could also see it as a sort of "virtue"/religious name.

Frederick Valentine, Helen Carlotta and Irene Augusta were among my favorites, too. :)

I like:
ValentineGardiner Spring (but for a male. cool that she was named after her grandfather, though.)
AdelaideGiddeon (like it better w/ one 'd'. this name is growing on me these days. i didn't used to like it.)
Giddeon Merrick (cool combo. never heard of merrick before anne rice's character so that's neat that it was used before that. and i think it sounds more male, too.)Chastine - wow, don't like this one, but it's certainly unique. like chastity meets chastened meets christine....or something. huh.Addie (I have to say that hattie addie isn't the best duo!)Hepsie - what?! perhaps a nn for hepzibah?
Herselia - another different one. not wretched, but i wouldn't use it.
Hadwin - ditto.
Haskill - this isn't as horrible as I would think AugustaJennie
Lina
James
Patrick (Patrick Johnson would've flowed better than Johnson Patrick - well, without knowing the ln, that is)Laronia - wow. not a fan. sounds like a prescription drug.
Laurentia
Blood - blood. cool, i guess? i bet it was a family name or something
Luthera - hrm. not the nicest feminization i've heard. looks pretty but doesn't sound very nice.

Gardiner Spring, etc.Gardiner Spring - Gardiner does sound masculine to me but, in concept, I can see it as an occupation name, "one who gardens" and that I can easily visualize as feminine. Wonder if she went by a nickname like "Gerdy" or such. I do like that she was named after her grandfather and, having decided to do that, I think her parents did a good job with the combo.Chastine - like you, I initially thought "chastity meets Christine", but then I wondered if it might be intended as a feminine variant of Charles.Hepsie - assume short for HepzibahHerselia - feminization of Hershel?Blood - would guess probably a family name; or maybe a virtue, "washed in the blood"?Luthera - if it's "LOO-ther-uh", I don't care for it but "loo-THER-uh", "THER" rhyming with "care" sounds okay.
