Arvesta - not bad
Arilda - reminds me of Sarilda, which I like
Sidonia - nice sound
Vixen - whoa!
Savory - oh dear!Peveril - interesting; getting castle imagery from this
Garlick - is there some other association besides garlic? Don't get this one (and I LOVE garlic).
Alcuin - not bad
Delight - huh, would have thought more likely given to a girl
Eutychus - interesting; wonder if I'm saying it right

Aww, Forget-me-not! love it! I also like Satina as a GP. I might start making a new list of GPs (when I have some spare time!).I find the commemorative names like Siege Sebastopol interesting. I know there are other names which got used in the past to commemorate wars or battles. Not something we do these days (but then our attitude to war is different now for a number of reasons).Did you see this article a few weeks ago on the BBC website about a baby named Somme?http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-magazine-monitor-31967883

Thanks for the link, fascinating! Tiny is fairly interesting on its own - definitely not a name you'd forget :)
I have quite a collection of commemorative names, most of which is unfortunately trapped on the hard drive in my dead laptop atm. Pretoria, Colenso & Tugela are a few from the Boer War I remember, and I suspect Victress and Surrender from the last batch of these (http://www.behindthename.com/bb/baby/4598236) might have been war-related. Maybe I'll post the lot at some point.

Aurfryn is totally amazing. And a male Invicta blows my socks off; as does a girl Cleander, come to think of it. As for Vixen ... !

There were a lot of -fryn names in use at one point, though they're very old-fashioned now, but Aurfryn is a rare one & I love it. Golden hill! And Invicta is awesome.

I can not lie, I think Philadelphia is a pretty cool name, and Sidonia!

I just spoke to a real-life Sidonia yesterday too! She pronounced it differently from what I thought it was - "si-DOH-nya" rather than "si-DAW-nya" - and I was very taken with it. Forget-me-not is too beautiful, it makes my heart hurt. Ahh, the poetry.

Ooh, nice sighting! Tis a pretty name.
There were, I think, only three Forget-me-nots in the records, and two of those were infants who died soon after birth. I was ridiculously chuffed when I found the third had managed to grow up and get married.

I kind of dig Arilda. Sounds like something I could see myself adding to my list. And Peveril is cool in its own right. It makes me think of a HP character (probably because of the Peverell brothers).

Arilda was also an early saint: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arilda_of_Oldbury so it's got good historical roots. I quite like it too.
