Thoughts on Natalie
We are thinking of naming a daughter Natalie. Our son's name is Eli. Does Eli and Natalie go well together in your opinion? We are simply compiling the best names we like at the moment. I am not pregnant yet. To me Natalie is so simple and in that simplicity it is beautiful.

From a Natalie :)My name is Natalie so I'm a little biased (haha) but I really like my name. When I was growing up, it was less popular than it is now (50-100 in popularity instead of 1-50) but I never had any other Natalie's in my classes in school, though I know several slightly younger than me.I think it's a lovely name with a nice, ageless sound. I work in a fairly formal field and occasionally I feel it sounds a little young, but not so much that I feel that it's silly or that I'm being taken less seriously because of my name. It sounds feminine but is not overly "girly" or "frilly" to me. It's fairly easy to spell (except at Starbucks?) and it isn't too long.I think it goes very well with Eli personally. In fact, my middle name starts with a similar sound to Eli and flows very nicely. They aren't too dissimilar in my opinion stylistically and aren't too close, soundwise.

Pretty well. I love Natalie, I just wish it wasn't so popular. I prefer Natalya though, with diminutive Natasha.

I never cared for the name (personally I've always found the name annoying) Natalie and Eli go great. use Natalie if you wish(:

I find it dated, frilly and bland. And if you scramble the last 3 letters, you get Eli, which might be overkill.

I love Natalie- I think it's very pretty, has a friendly sound, is easily recognizable but not overly common (at least in my area.) Great choice.I'm not a big fan of it with Eli, however- I think because they both have that strong "E" sound in them and I like a little more variety in sounds for siblings. That's just me, though.

I like it okay, and I do think it goes with Eli. It just has a bit of a whiny, spoiled feel to me, from personal associations. Strangely, I greatly prefer Nathalie; somehow, the "H" masks the whiny image and lets the simple beauty and sophistication shine through. It also looks more "complete" to me, I guess.

Natalie is a nice enough name, though a little boring imo. Your son's name is gorgeous and recognisable, yet still seems different enough that he won't be one of 5 in the class with the same name. I'd prefer a girl name that is a little fresher for the fn, with Natalie as the mn. But that's all just my two cents worth!

While I prefer Natalia, there's nothing wrong with Natalie. It's lovely and is a good complement to Eli.

Natalie is a great name. It's very beautiful. I think it goes with Eli, although it's quite a bit longer than Eli.

I like Natalie. It's stylish without being a fad, classic without being dated, entirely feminine, easy to say and spell.
