Re: Tomboy names wanted?
If there is more than one Sophia D. at school, maybe someone would say, "Hey, Dillon is a first name, too. Let's call Sophia Dillon just Dillon." The first name isn't embarrassing, just too common. One year in high school, someone said that everyone should start calling me Dani from my last name. I said no, my cousin is Danielle, nn Dani, I'm not using that nn.Anything really old and fusty or you can't imagine on a real life kid, like Gertrude, Agatha. I'm fine with a character that doesn't have a name that I love/ like. The name needs to fit the character, who is named by two characters whose tastes could be very different than mine, 'not me'. If Dillan fits her, keep it.
