Re: Dorcas v. Tabitha....

I'm biased on Tabitha; it's my older sister's name (and yes, she was named after said witchy character :P ). I really like the name. It puts me in the mind of a blunt, stubborn, and somewhat hotheaded lady. But she's loyal; she'll fight for you no matter what.
When we were younger, my brother and I somehow found out that Dorcas and Tabitha were roughly the same name, so we started teasing our sister by calling her Dorcas. We thought it had the funniest sound ever. Today, though, I actually really like Dorcas (though, surprisingly, more for a boy. I was recently reintroduced to the name on a fictional, strong family man, so now that's all I can think of when I see it).
So, I like both names, though I'd definitely be more excited to meet a Dorcas (of either gender), simply because I'm more "exposed" to Tabitha.
