Re: 16th century Manx names
Ooh, fun! I love Manx names, they always feel like an interesting twist on the usual Celtic ones I'm familiar with.I like:
Abel
Allow
Fynlo
Gilander - this is soooo cool
Gilmere
Nele - do you know how this would be pronounced? Like Nella?
Otnel
Paton
Thomlyn
ThormotCalibrid
Calychrist
Calyvorri
More

Not sure about the pronunciation of Nele, the page didn't specify. An article on namepedia marked Nele (m, Manx) as a variant of Niall, which makes me think it might be "neel" or maybe "neel-uh".
